The metropolis in reconstruction and renovation

Hardly any other city in Central Europe is changing the usual image, especially through the recent reconstructions of buildings in Budapest's Castle District that were lost in the Second World War. At the same time, interesting modern museum buildings recently were built, which also brought a completely new direction in the museum landscape. Likewise, districts that are unknown to tourists, such as the water town of Viziváros, are characterized not only by the architecture but also by the social history of the city.

On our Arch on Tour we visit these current architectural highlights, including the House of Music by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto and the new Ethnographic Museum by Napur Architects in the city forest, explore notable renovations in the Castle District as well as hidden places in the area of our feudal hotel on the Buda side. We get extensive insights into Budapest Modernism in the Napraforgó Bauhaus model estate, in the Villa Walter Rózsi, which has been renovated into an architecture museum, and in Bem József Street, where we start our tour in a private apartment in an original Bauhaus object with a champagne reception.

We are looking forward to the architecturally rich weekend in our Danube-neighbouring city of Budapest!
