Starting in Florence, the cheerful tour takes us first on the footsteps of the Medici to selected examples of the villas and gardens of the Italian noble family, whose building projects had major influence on the development of the "Tuscan villa" and the "Italian garden" in the 15th - 17th centuries . Walks in the old town of Florence provide insights into the history of the Medici and lead to other special places, such as Brunelleschis dome of the mighty cathedral and the interesting renovation work of the Museo Novecento.
The little journey continues via the picturesque, medieval town of San Gimignano to the somewhat less well-known but no less interesting Peccioli, where we explore medieval to contemporary architectural treasures in both places.
Closely intertwined with Tuscan history and the patronage of the Medici dynasty is the viticulture, where grape varieties (including Uva Francesca, today Cabernet-Sauvignon) and wine-growing areas (including Chianti) were founded. We also follow these tracks and explore 3 of the most outstanding wineries in the region, both from an architectural and oenological point of view. Contemplative trips through the hilly autumn landscape over a side trip to the Mediterranean coast lead to Siena, the city with probably the most ingenious town square in the world. At the end of the tour we enjoy the heart of the wineries - Antinori in the terroir of Chianti Classico. And last but not least, authentic cuisine in ensured!
