The 12 million metropolis of Moscow welcomes you with architectural finds from the 1970s
and 80s, surprised with interesting new buildings and successful adaptations of dilapidated buildings from Soviet modernism as well as numerous relics from the Russian avant-garde. A guided tour to the Kremlin and a tour of the excavation work, an unusual excursion to the yacht club in Pirogovo and its bizarre buildings on the artificial lake, walks, rides on the historic metro, studio visits and a river trip through the Moskva describe the dense program in the gigantic city. The Sapsan express train takes us straight to the imperial showpiece of St. Petersburg on the Gulf of Finland. Cathedrals, Art Nouveau buildings and palaces line the boulevards between the spacious canals of the extraordinarily laid out city, where the tour ends with the white nights. Very good hotels are available as excellent starting points for our explorations and authentic culinary experiences are also well catered for.
