The footsteps of Andrea Palladio lead us to the Villa Rotonda, which opens its doors especially for us at the start of our tour. A walk through the old town of Vicenza shows the Palladio Museum, the impressive Teatro Olimpico and overwhelming Basilica Palladiana, the heart of the historic center. Contemplative bus trips to the best Palladian villas, an exclusive visit to the private Villa Dolfin Boldù and to Carlo Scarpa's masterpiece - the Tomba Brion - describe the busy and contemplative days in Veneto, ending in the noble Villa Cornaro, which is surrounded by the typical Venetian landscape southwest of Vicenza and reveals a magnificent view of the idyllic area. A private boat trip through the Brenta with further villa-visits on the river banks navigates us through the lagoon to the Riva Schiavoni in Venice.
The two following days are dedicated to the 18th Architecture Biennale 2023 in Venice "The Laboratory of the Future" with guided overview tours through the exhibitions in the Arsenale and in the Giardini, the Austrian contribution "Partezipazione Participation" and other current exhibitions in the urban area of Venice. The theme "Palladio and Scarpa" is also rounded off with other key projects by the two local architects, who influenced the architectural history in very different aspects.
Numerous expert guided tours, exclusive interior visits also in private villas and gardens, city walks, a private boat trip, excellent food and wine in villas and other authentic places characterize the rich program, which also allows time for individual exploration. For our journey by train, the entire sleeping car is reserved for ARCH ON TOUR!
