21-23 SEPTEMBER 2018

Concept and moderation: Marion Kuzmany / ARCH ON TOUR

Guided tours: "La Biennale di Venezia", Fondazione Cini

Tour operator: Mondial GmbH & Co. KG

The tour leads in the established tradition to the International Architecture Biennale in Venice, which is taking place for the 16th time and this year with the title "Freespace" under the Dublin-based team of architects and curators Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara.

ARCH ON TOUR, in cooperation with "La Biennale di Venezia", gives a general overview of the Biennale and shows the most important contributions in the Arsenale area and in the Giardini, including the Austrian contribution "Thoughts Form Matter" by commissioner and curator Verena Konrad with the Room installation by the three invited teams LAAC, Henke Schreieck and Sagmeister & Walsh.

A Sunday excursion leads to the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, where the exhibition "Homo Faber" provides insights into outstanding European craftsmanship and a leisurely stroll through 10 chapel projects by international teams of architects in the beautiful garden of the Vatican "Padiglione della Santa Sede".

Based on the excellent and central location of Hotel Wildner, there is enough time for individual visits in addition to the guided program. Attractive cuisine with an exclusive cocktail reception in the piano nobile of the Palazzo Malipiero-Trevisan and a lunch buffet on San Giorgio is also well catered for.
