FROM VIENNA TO THE WORLD
ARCH ON TOUR 52_DUBAI EXPO
and other highlights in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
NOVEMBER 21 - 28, 2021
concept and moderation: Marion Kuzmany / ARCH ON TOUR
guiding: local experts; Expo-office Austria
tour operator: Mondial GmbH & Co. KG
This tour of superlatives leads to the Expo Dubai with accompanied visits to several country pavilions and themes "Opportunitiy", "Mobility" and "Sustainability". It starts with a guided tour and an exclusive welcome reception in the VIP lounge of the Austria pavilion designed by querkraft architects.
The tour also provides an insight into the architecture of the two Arab cities on the Persian Gulf. Dubai impresses with gigantic high-rise buildings by international architects and landfill-projects projects such as "the palm", which we visit on a tour, as well as historic Dubai, rounded off by a visit to the spice market, a walk and a boat trip through the Dubai Marina and a look at the Alserkal gallery district.
The day trip to Abu Dhabi is probably worth the trip just because of a visit to the Louvre designed by Jean Nouvel. We explore the museum as well as Abu Dhabi Central Market with its interesting renovations and extensions by Norman Foster and the mighty Sheikh Zayed Mosque made from the most elaborate materials. Last but not least, our excellent hotel is located on the beach and the pleasent local temperature offers a comfortable starting base for our tours as well as a change from the European or northerly November weather.
